Don’t be persuaded by anyone who concludes that you can always spot a liar based on certain pre-defined behaviors. There are no universal signs of deceit.
So what does a successful deception detection system look like? It simultaneously examines verbal and nonverbal signs of indication and factors in a strong questioning strategy, and uses the the analysis of time and proximity in the discovery of deceit.
Using multiple sources is not suggested but mandatory. Non-Verbal communication must be combined with all other sources of information. This is a successful recipe for discovering deception.
